Supra’s 12th Community Call marked one year since the launch of Supra’s mainnet. CEO Josh Tobkin and host James Preston walked through explosive ecosystem growth, major technology rollouts, new revenue engines for the network, and a bold vision for what comes next.
If you missed the live session, here’s a comprehensive breakdown of the most significant announcements and why Supra’s vertically integrated stack is set to enter its next phase: monetization and scale.
DeFi, AI, Gaming & Tools Go Live
The call opened by highlighting just how quickly Supra’s ecosystem is expanding. Over the past month alone:
- Solido launched the $SOLID token and completed its TGE.
- AI Garden, one of Supra’s flagship NFT × AI projects, is preparing a significant collaboration with Hug.art.
- Atmos Protocol rolled out a portfolio tracker.
- SuperLend and Evo both went live on mainnet.
- Dexlyn began its ICO on CommonFund and has already surpassed 127% of its sale target.
Developers continue choosing Supra because the platform offers something few others can: speed + oracles + cross-chain + automation, all baked into the L1 itself. Josh emphasized that builders consistently praise the developer experience, not just performance, because Supra gives them “everything they need and things they didn’t know they needed.”
Vertical Integration Is Winning
A key theme running through the call: the industry is shifting away from hyper-modular architectures and rediscovering the power of vertical integration.
Josh compared Supra’s full-stack design to the “iPhone moment,” consolidating many fragmented tools (oracle providers, bridging layers, automation bots, execution layers) into a single, unified system. “If you can build it all in one place, you should,” he said. Supra began as an oracle project, but the long-term vision was always a vertically integrated blockchain capable of powering a global world computer.
After a year of intense building, that full stack is nearly complete. According to Josh, while 2024 was all about architecture, the rest of 2025 will be all about turning on Supra’s fee engines.
Automation: Supra’s Unfair Advantage
Automation came up again and again because it is the single most differentiated feature of Supra’s L1.
Every other chain still forces developers into centralized, opaque bots for tasks like:
- Rebalancing vaults
- CLMM repositioning
- Liquidations
- Arbitrage
- Strategy execution
- Cross-chain actions
Supra has this natively at the protocol layer, something no other major chain has shipped.
Developers at DevConnect told the team that features they dreamed of building years ago are now possible for the first time because Supra eliminates the need for off-chain automation. Supra’s AutoFi framework is already enabling:
Concentrated Liquidity Strategies With Moving Price Bands
Imagine Uniswap V4 range orders, but automated. Instead of setting static ranges, liquidity moves dynamically with price, within ~5% bands.
This unlocks:
- Better depth
- Lower slippage
- Higher LP fees
- Lower impermanent loss
And it can’t be done effectively on legacy chains. Supra’s automation is the missing piece.
How Microchains (Containers) Provide Near-Instant Finality
One of the most significant engineering breakthroughs covered during the call was an update on Supra’s Microchains, also known as Containers.
These specialized execution environments:
- Produce blocks at 10–25 milliseconds
- Run co-located for ultra-low latency
- Submit their execution batches to L1 for finality within ~2 seconds
- Are designed for high-frequency apps like perps, gaming, and HFT-style DeFi
Supra actually achieved 10ms block times internally, and users cannot visually tell the difference between 10ms and 25ms, making the system effectively real-time.
This approach lets Supra run a “clone” of the L1 in a tightly optimized region, giving developers on-chain centralized-exchange performance. Josh also made it clear: Supra announced and tested this architecture months before other teams publicly began discussing similar designs.
SuperLiquid Project Update
When asked about SuperLiquid (Supra’s upcoming Hyperliquid-style perp DEX), Josh said the backend mechanics are almost complete, and the team aims to demo it on testnet soon.
SuperLiquid will sit on top of Microchains and leverage:
- Built-in price feeds
- 600+ data pairs (crypto, equities, FX, commodities)
- Automation
- Supra’s DEX / DFMM engine
But speed alone won’t define success. Supra is also building:
- A points program
- Airdrop mechanics
- Anti-farming protections
- Sticky-liquidity incentives
Josh emphasized the need for high-quality participants, not just delta-neutral farmers gaming point systems.
Threshold AI Oracles for Prediction Markets
Supra’s Threshold AI Oracle is now in active testing and is already used by ToonSwap’s prediction markets. It can resolve real-world events (sports, outcomes, off-chain truths) in tens of seconds, significantly faster than UMA-style human arbitration.
With hundreds of prediction markets across major chains, the vision is to tap into that demand and charge micro-fees per resolved market. If Supra becomes the default “truth engine” for prediction markets, this could be one of the most profitable fee streams across the entire network.
Auto-Balancer: Supra’s New Revenue Engine
Perhaps the biggest reveal of the call was the first public confirmation of Auto-Balancer, Supra’s built-in system for auto-arbitrage and auto-liquidations.
This is essentially Supra’s equivalent of “good MEV,” capturing opportunities that private MEV firms typically take.
Key points:
- Supra can execute these opportunities up to 3 times per second
- Routes grow exponentially as new DEXs, assets, and lending markets appear
- The internal target is 100,000+ arbitrage routes
- All value is redistributed to dApps, node operators, and a decentralized treasury
- This could dwarf traditional transaction fees
This is a new economic model for L1s, one that’s impossible without vertically integrated automation, oracles, and execution.
Cross-Chain FX, DEX Infrastructure & iAssets
Supra is preparing for the next frontier of Web3: cross-chain foreign exchange.
Stablecoins will increasingly exist across specialized chains, requiring:
- FX price feeds
- Liquidity movement
- Event-driven automation
- Cross-chain messaging
Supra has all of these components and is already servicing multiple chains with its oracle and VRF services.
A major iAssets event is also scheduled for early December, where the team will unveil new ways for users to bring external assets into Supra’s DeFi ecosystem and earn both block rewards and liquidity incentives.
