Today, robots and autonomous agents are capable of performing a wide array of tasks for users with a wide spectrum of skills and objectives. But how can these agents manifest in the realm of digital finance? Imagine autonomous agents that transact on behalf of users across diverse decentralized finance (DeFi) and off-chain financial systems — participating in DeFi protocols on multiple chains, transferring assets between platforms, and even purchasing assets or items for users. These mission-critical agents will be handling users’ finances, which would necessitate a high level of decentralization and fault resistance to prevent manipulation and centralization risks, including but not limiting to deviation from their intended logic.
But today’s digital finance landscape isn’t really there yet. So how do we construct such sophisticated agents, and what kind of infrastructure would they need?
These agents must be capable of receiving information from various systems, requiring an infrastructure that supports seamless and tamper-proof data pipelines. They should intelligently and trustlessly process this information according to predetermined logic to make informed decisions and determine the most appropriate action. They need the ability to execute those decisions, interacting with digital finance systems like public and private blockchains, off-chain financial systems and centralized databases. As autonomous entities operating within digital finance, they must also channel capital to different systems and utilize this capital to transact on the user’s behalf.
IntraLayer is a platform where developers can create such decentralized autonomous agents – Universal Financial Controllers (UFCs). IntraLayer, the comprehensive two-layer infrastructure, comprised of a multipurpose decentralized network where nodes offer a variety of services and DeFi protocols make autonomous agents for tomorrow’s automated digital finance world, include:
IntraLayer is a platform of platforms, designed to make autonomous digital finance a reality. Its infrastructure will start provisioning the future of digital finance, today. This infrastructure can be likened to a digital bank – an algorithmic fiduciary, where users can create autonomous agents functioning as personalized service contracts, and the bank can perform transactions on behalf of users across a multiplatform environment. This facilitates trustless automation and provides comprehensive, seamless solutions for asset management and financial services throughout the digital finance landscape.
This is precisely what Supra IntraLayer is developing for the future of digital finance. In the explainer video shared above, we introduced this vision, the framework, and the problems it solves. Now, in the paper shared below – we describe IntraLayer’s objectives, and how it seeks to achieve them.
