Joshua Tobkin is a passionate founder and entrepreneur with over 15 years of technology leadership, including significant experience in SaaS businesses with a focus on digital payments and online gaming. Joshua has held a variety of positions in growth-stage companies, including Creative Director and CTO. 

After his first successful exit, Joshua entered the blockchain industry in late 2016, organizing groups of developers and founders to evaluate whitepapers that showcased promising cryptographic research. After founding a blockchain lab in 2018, he became the project’s lead architect and co-designed Supra’s state-of-the-art Moonshot consensus algorithm. 

Joshua is passionate about blockchain interoperability and believes that blockchain technology will revolutionize a variety of core industries such as banking, governance, and even AI.Based on these core beliefs, Joshua founded Supra to address blockchain’s core safety, data integrity, performance, and interoperability issues. While Supra began with a primary focus on solving the blockchain oracle dilemma, under Joshua leadership, the project has expanded to deliver a powerful suite of decentralized blockchain interoperability protocols.

These include HyperNova, a decentralized, trustless blockchain bridge; Moonshot, a powerful high-throughput, low-latency consensus algorithm; and Supra distributed on-chain randomness service, which provides unpredictable random numbers for applications including blockchain lotteries, NFT trait generation, and randomized blockchain node selection.

Most importantly, however, Joshua is leading Supra’s efforts to launch a revolutionary new fully vertically integrated Layer-1, which aims to be the world’s fastest, most secure, and most interoperable blockchain. Supra’s state-of-the-art L1 will provide significant advantages over the competition, with multi-VM support, native oracles, native VRF, native cross-chain communication, and native automation that will enable dApps to do new things that were otherwise impossible on a single infrastructure. 

This generates a new level of in-built security and allows dApps and other blockchain protocols to effectively bootstrap liquidity while simultaneously communicating with all major L1s and L2 chains.
